Living a thriving life is about allowing yourself to have the freedom needed in order to grow and improve, while respecting your body so that it can thrive. A thriving life is about everything from your mindset and the words that you use, to spending time with your family and getting outside. Too often we put health into a box and label it nutrition and exercise when it's about so much more than that. Interestingly enough, people living in Blue Zones (countries where people are regularly living long and healthy lives, many times to 100 years old and beyond), have a much higher emphasis on relationships than any other health marker. While exercise and nutrition most definitely play a role inside a healthy lifestyle, we're missing out significantly on health if we've limited our health to just those two components.
Freedom is having the ability to have a long term vision. Freedom may look like skipping your workout in order to spend time with friends or family, knowing that building and maintaining relationships moves you closer to your long term goal. Freedom may allow you to eat dessert because you know this gives you more quality of life even if it takes you slightly longer to reach your physical goals. Freedom is essential to long-term health and wellness.
Growth is the recognition that we are always evolving in our lives either forwards or backwards. If you're not growing and improving, you're dying.
Respect is loving our bodies enough to provide them with the nutrition, exercise, relationships, sunshine, fresh air, and love that they need in order to truly thrive.
